The New Prion Biology: Basic Science, Diagnosis and Therapy
II International Symposium 7 - 9 April 2005 Venezia - Italy

Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale delle Venezie
Dear Colleagues.
On behalf of the Scientific Committee, we wish to invite you to the II International Symposium The New Prion Biology: Basic Science, Diagnosis and Therapy to be held in Venice, Italy, April 7-9, 2005.
The programme foresees lectures by leading scientists in different aspects of prion diseases, and at least three plenary lectures on topics of protein aggregation/misfolding, and neurodegenerative diseases other than TSEs. This in order to allow a stimulating confrontation of the prion research with the most updated advances and perspectives in closely related fields. In addition, interesting posters will be selected for oral presentation. The meeting will be restricted to a total number of around 160 participants, which should be sufficiently small to encourage in-depth discussions.
Chiron kindly bestows a two $1000 fellowship - The Chiron Young Prion Scientist Awards - which will be attributed among the most brilliant presented poster(s).
For all details, please refer to the web site:

We look forward to seeing you in Venice in Spring 2005.
