If I get it right (and without having checked the papers referred to), there thus seem to be at least two standards for EEG transfer, where the EDF does not seem to be optimal in some aspects. Tapio, do you have any opinion about the ASTM standard with re
spect to the items where the EDF is weak? Also, how does your own file format compere to the ASTM?

Isn't this an obvious demand; we can never expect that all of us will end up with the same system - hence, we will have to transfer data between different machines at different labs. I think that the manufacturer that realize this will have an competitive
advantage in the long run...

Do you know if any of these standard specifications also are available directly over WWW or as PDF-files through FTP?
Finally, does anyone know about any software converting files to TEXT or excel-formats from any specific EEG-file format (e.g. very useful for producing graphical illustrations of selected small sections of an EEG recording)?
