Greetings to all those with an interest in neurophysiology. My name is
Rhonda Clark, and I am an intraoperative END technologist. At Shands at
the University of Florida we have a long-standing and successful
monitoring service which recorded over 400 procedures last year. My two
colleagues and I are under the supervision of a team of
neuroanesthesiologists, and we are separate from the clinical END
laboratory. The scope of monitored cases here is broad, including
procedures for the treatment of intra-cranial aneurysm and AVM, posterior
fossa procedures for acoustic schwannoma and microvascular decompressions
of cranial nerves as well as orthopedic and neurosurgical procedures for
the treatment of intra- and extra-axial spinal pathology.
I'm personally very excited about the opportunities for sharing
experience and information via the internet. Our first on-line case
presentation was launched recently, and I invite you all to visit it @
www.anest.ufl.edu. The title of the presentation is Neurologic Case of
the Month.
