Activating the CLIN_NEUROPHYSIOL list!

The CLIN_NEUROPHYSIOL electronic discussion list have now been unofficially
operating for more than six months. As list manager I've experienced very
little technical trouble. Subscription requests have at large been directed
to the proper LISTSERV@LISTSERV.UMU.SE-address, and only few return address
errors have occurred. Sadly, it has not been possible get mail through to a
few early subscribers from mainland China; probably because that part of
the net has been quietly disconnected from the rest of the Internet...

The existence of the list have also been announced by fax-message to the
secretary of the International Federation of Clinical Neurophysiology
(IFCN), Prof. Giuseppe Caruso in Napoli. To inform about the list further,
I hope that all of you already susbcribing can spread the word to
colleagues, as well as to national and local chapters of any appropriate
associations.

By announcing the list to different societies I also hope that more general
messages will be posted to the list, e.g. about meetings and courses. As
far as I see it, also commercial announcements and offers about equipment
and hard-/software directly related to the field of clinical
neurophysiology may be posted. (But keep them short and adequate -
preferably give an Internet or WWW address to contact for those with
further interest in the products!)

Below you will find a text suitable for sending as information about the
list. Please use it if you feel like informing, but don't have much time
for writing!

Regards

Erik Nordh, list maintainer

Welcome to join "CLIN_NEUROPHYSIOL"- the new discussion group via Internet!

Beginning by January 1:st 1996, an electronic mailing list
"CLIN_NEUROPHYSIOL" was opened on the Internet, as a discussion forum for
all professionals working within neurophysiology in general and clinical
neurophysiology in particular! The list is run by the Department of
Clinical Neurophysiology at the Clinical Neurosciences Center, Umeå
University, Sweden. You are most welcome to subscribe to this list, free
of charge! We hope that it will become a useful tool for rapid
communication of news and ideas, and that it will favour many interesting
discussions. However, to this end it is of great importance that knowledge
about the list is widespread. We therefore ask you to please pass this
information on to your colleagues and co-workers!

This unedited list is run as a simple remailer, with messages going out
just as quickly as the mailer can handle it. This ensures good turnaround,
and keeps the discussions flowing. It is maintained semiautomatically; i.e.
subscriptions, additions and deletions to the list are made by the
individual users themselves, while some general support and supervision is
maintained by us.

Subscribing to the list is simple, and only requires a connection to the
Internet and an e-mail address. To order the subscription, send the
